Edna’s Sober House Philosophy
Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy and supportive transitional living environment for women preparing to face the world free from alcohol and drug addiction.
At Edna’s Sober House, our primary commitment is with the client and their family. We consider it a privilege to assist the newly sober woman with a compassionate and consistent support system, while in a somewhat fragile and vulnerable condition – both physical and emotional. Our house believes in peer group recovery to help individuals gain strength and coping skills in a safe, substance free environment.
Sober Home Rules
Edna’s is a 12-step based house and residents are required to attend 5 meetings per week, 4 if they are in a IOP program. IOP is not required.
Curfews are 11pm during the weekdays and 12am on the weekends. Overnight passes are allowed after 30 days with pre-approval.
At Edna’s residents are required to be productive and acquire a job or volunteer work. If a resident is not going to work they are required to complete at least 20 hours of volunteer work a week.
Residents will be drug and alcohol tested upon admission and 2-3 times per week initially. Once residents have settled in the tests will lessen. Residents will be tested upon suspicion.
